New Christchurch Destination Marketing Website
04/09/2025After the essential road resurfacing works carried out on Christchurch Bypass recently, Christchurch & District Chamber of Trade & Commerce, along with sponsorship from contractors Aureos and local business PP Printing, have funded free parking between 10am and 6pm on Saturday the 6th and 13th of December at several car parks in Christchurch town centre.
Louise Berkhauer, Joint Operations Manager at Christchurch Business Improvement District (BID) commented, “This wonderful offer encouraging shoppers to visit Christchurch this Christmas will really support the local businesses that were heavily impacted by the recent roadworks. Ourselves, Christchurch Chamber of Trade and Commerce, and Christchurch Town Council worked with BCP Council, to seek an offer of support to help bring shoppers into the town. Thankfully, Christchurch Chamber were able to work closely with BCP Parking department and Cllr Richard Herrett to fund free parking in the town on the 6th and 13th December between 10am and 6pm at the major car parks in the town.”
Chris Guest, Chair of Christchurch BID commented, “It is very beneficial for Christchurch when organisations such as Christchurch BID, Christchurch and District Chamber of Trade and Commerce, and Christchurch Town Council work together for the overall good of the town, benefiting residents, businesses and visitors alike. Christchurch BID organises the popular Carols in the Square event, which is being held in Saxon Square on Saturday the 13th December from 4.30pm, so it’s a fantastic opportunity to head into Christchurch, park for free, get some Christmas shopping done and then join in the festivities in Saxon Square with a good old carol sing-a-long. Christchurch has so much to offer shoppers all year round, but Christmas is extra special with the festive lights, beautiful shop windows and Christmas door wreaths on display across the town”.
Eloise Howes, Joint Operations Manager at Christchurch Business Improvement District (BID) added, “This is a fabulous initiative for Christchurch. I am encouraging all residents and visitors to support local businesses not only during this Small Business Saturday weekend but across the Christmas season. Every visit and purchase makes a difference to our local economy, which supports local families.”
Free parking on Saturday, the 6th and 13th of December, will be available at the following car parks between 10 am and 6 pm – Bank Close, Mayors Mead, Priory car park, Saxon Square and Wick Lane.
As the town is in full festive swing, Christchurch BID invites everyone to support their local businesses, big and small, and enjoy the festive events and attractions that the town has to offer during Christmas and into the New Year.
