10 dinosaurs are hiding around Christchurch.

Christchurch Dino Trail Thursday 23rd July until Monday 31st August.

Main times to catch them all: 10 am to 3 pm each day

(please check opening hours of the Red House Museum, The Library and The Regent before venturing out)

Write down which venue you discover the dinosaurs.

There’s a small dino-themed surprise for every child who completes their trail and takes a selfie with the dino egg in Christchurch Library.
Share your selfie and tag @christchurchbid on Instagram or write your name and a guardian’s contact number on the trail leaflet and pop into Christchurch Library for entry into the prize draw. The draw will be on 1st September.

Dino Craft Morning at Druitt Hall, Saturday 8th August, 10:30 am – 12:30 pm

Dino Dig at the Mayor’s Parlour, Saturday 29th August, 10 am to 3 pm

Christchurch BID is a business-led, not-for-profit company, funded by a levy placed on local businesses in the designated BID area. The collaborative investment, collected from over 270 local businesses, is used to enhance, maintain, promote and encourage people to visit, stay and experience Christchurch.

Christchurch Dino Trail flyer

The dinosaurs on the leaflet are just a representative sample of those around Christchurch.

This is the first time we have done something like this, and we just wanted it to be a fun trail to get the kids out.

We have definitely learnt what we would do differently next time.

You don’t need to do the trail in order; you can do parts of it and come back to find the rest.

We have put leaflets in several places, mainly The Regent, The Library, Travelodge, The Kings Arms, The Captains Club, so people do not have to rely on WiFI to scan the QR code; Christchurch is known for having a very bad mobile phone signal; I think only two networks are any good.  I know this can be very frustrating.

The postbox is in the Library for posting the completed leaflet, but you would have to write a name and a telephone number on it.  The library has kindly put a poster up by the postbox to explain this.

Each location is marked with a number (it is not necessarily the number of dinos, as the Red house has loads!)

We will accept ALL completed trail leaflets; this is a fun activity for little adventurers, and no one will be penalised for not completing.
