UNIQUE ARTWORK GOES UNDER THE HAMMER FOR JULIA’S HOUSE
29/05/2025Christchurch, UK – Sunday, 18th May – The Christchurch Big Spring Clean saw a remarkable turnout as local residents, businesses, and community groups united in a shared effort to beautify the town. Organised by Christchurch & District Chamber of Commerce, Christchurch BID, and the Project Bargates Community Group, the event gathered volunteers of all ages for a dedicated day of litter picking and town sprucing.
Participants targeted key areas, including Christchurch car parks, the High Street, and Bargates, contributing to an impressive transformation.
An array of local organisations and officials supported the event, including Christchurch Baptist Church, Pro2Col, PP Printing, We Love Group, Southern Domestic Appliances, Christchurch Town Council, and local resident Simon Hill, who videoed it. Thanks to Vivienne Charrett, Mayor of Christchurch, Councillors Mike Cox, Paul Hillard, and Carol Gardiner for their continued support.
In addition to the community effort, BCP Council is providing a specialist clean of Saxon Square car park, while Tony Stivala is supporting the High Street with targeted cleaning initiatives.
Refreshments on the day, generously sponsored by Hammond & Sons and prepared by Megs Makery, helped keep volunteers energised, and Christchurch Waitrose supplied the cleaning equipment needed to make the day a success.
Ellie Howes, Christchurch BID Operations Manager, expressed her gratitude: “It was humbling to see so many local residents and businesses come together for a joint cause to keep Christchurch looking attractive and clean for everyone to enjoy. The Christchurch community continues to flourish, and organisers are committed to maintaining the momentum throughout spring and summer, so Christchurch remains a wonderful place to live, work, and visit.”
