HAVE YOUR SAY ON KEY IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS FOR CHRISTCHURCH

BACKGROUND
Following the distribution of an initial information sheet regarding the proposals for a Business Improvement District (BID) in Christchurch, we are asking all businesses to complete a short survey to outline their preferred improvement projects for the town.

HOW BUSINESSES CAN COMPLETE THE SURVEY
We can deliver hard-copies of the survey to businesses, which we will collect when completed, and the survey can also be completed online at www.surveymonkey.com/r/CHRISTCHURCHBID

THE TYPE OF PROJECTS WHICH ARE BEING CONSIDERED
Recent consultation with almost 30 local businesses has indicated that improvement plans
might focus around the following:
1 Marketing & Promotion, to include the creation of a strong town centre brand
2 Improvements to the appearance of empty shop units
3 More major town centre events or festivals
4 Increased floral planting or landscaping
5 Projects to encourage investment into Christchurch
6 A new website to attract more visitors to the town
7 Social media campaigns to drive more footfall

However, the survey includes a number of other possible projects and so we are inviting further feedback from as many businesses as possible before the survey closes
in late-February.

A REMINDER OF WHEN THIS IS LIKELY TO HAPPEN
The current proposals are for the vote to take place from 20th August until 17th September 2020, with the BID being operational by December 2020, subject to a positive business vote.
